We organized and conducted a drawing competition for the girls of the Higher Secondary School in Rotler Street. We received many beautiful pictures that showcased the talent of these children. The winners were selected by a committee and awarded prizes.

Art of Body and Mind |

Dr. M.G. Bhaskar was
a special guest speaker and he talked about
the Art of Body and Mind. His speech about
the art of body language gave us a new perspective
on things. We learnt how we send and receive
signals using our body and we should learn
to recognize these signals to communicate
with others more effectively. We learnt
a lot of new things and his speech was much
appreciated by the members.

| Project Bedsheet |
|
|
After observing that
a lot of poor and needy people did not have
even a single blanket for sleeping in the
cold and rainy season, we decided to help
them out. We purchased bed sheets from a
shop for wholesale prices using generous
contributions from our club members. Then
we went directly to the people on the street
and distributed the bed sheets among the
ones that needed it the most.

Interact Club members
were given training by our club members.
Rtn. Gnanavelan explained about the Interact
Club and the goals and ideals behind it.
We gave training to the members about Rotary
club and explained how the students could
help themselves and their fellow students
by interacting with each other, improving
communication skills and working on other
skills that will be useful in their careers.

agreement with Rotary Club of Amanzimtoti,
South Africa to coordinate and cooperate
on various projects. This was thanks to

District Governor Nominee
AP Rtn. Kanna was the Chief Guest for the
event. AG Rtn. SNB was also present for
this function where we honoured all the
Past Presidents. The entire club was in
a celebratory mood and all our members were
proud of club. The President talked about
the Past Presidents and how their contributions
helped in the growth of the club. The Past
Presidents were happy to be a part of the
celebrations and shared their experiences
with us. They extended their support for
the club in the future. This event was celebrated
in a grand manner and club members attended
with their families.

| Teacher's Day Celebrations

The hierarchy of ‘matha,
pitha, guru, deivam’ was highdarked to the
students. The greatness of teachers was
shared with the students and we explained
than more than studying observing the energy
of the teachers will help us lead our life
in a better way. We gifted umbrellas to
all the teachers to help them during the
rainy season. The teachers were thankful
for the much needed umbrellas.

| Interact Club Installation
at Govt. Higher Secondary School |

Our strong belief and
hopes in the youth of today is the reason
for the Interact Clubs. At the Government
Higher Secondary School (Rotler Street,
Vepery, Chennai 7) we inducted 6 new people
into the club. Our President spoke about
the Interact and Rotary clubs and the ideals
they were created to uphold and the humanitarians
services that they are known for. The Interact
Club members presented various cultural
programs which showed their talent.

our most energetic Assistant Governors and

to us. He came on an official visit and
inducted a new member. During the meeting

| Independence Day Celebrations
at Veeraraghavapuram Govt. School |

We celebrated Independence
Day with the students of Veeraraghavapuram
Govt. School and presented them with useful
gifts to mark the occasion. After the flag
hoisting ceremony, schoolbags were distributed
to the school students. Sweets and mementos
were awarded to the teachers. Students received
colour crayons and drawing books from the
club.
